What is Atmosphere08 ?

We have set up a festival that is aimed to make your Kiting Mojo fully function

So there is something for everyone and something for everyone to take away

All the events are aimed at the widest possible audience – you should all be able to take part and get lots out of it. So how are we going to do this?

I suppose the easiest way is to take a couple of the events and show you what’s planned

Kitesurfing – we are lucky to have the first of 2008 BKSA Waveriders competition over 2 days. This means that you have a chance to compete or to see how the top guys do it. If you don’t feel up to that level yet there is a Slope Competition that will be suitable for all kite surfers to have a go at. On top of that we are also looking to have Kitesurf instructors available to give some instruction for all beginners

Buggy Racing – The PKA are laying on a series of fun races over the weekend which will be open to all – race buggies and race kites as well as beginner buggies and standard kites. So you can come along and take part at whatever level you want. There are also planned some buggy race clinics to help you learn all about the techniques the top racers use and you can take them away to practice

Freestyle Buggy – Some of the top freestylers in the UK are putting on these competitions each day so lots of jaw dropping action to see or take part in. Keen to start freestyle but not sure how to do it ? There will be freestyle clinics run to let you pick up all the moves you need to sort out before really getting the big time moves

Demo Arena – this area will have a fantastic selection of manufacturers with all the new gear for you to see and try – surely the only time in kiting history where so many kites of all flavours will be there for you to make up your minds about. Lots of makes you know well and you may have heard about and never seen – well now is the chance to try them and see what they are all about.

This whole attitude will go through as many events as possible to make it something that you can all gain from

There are pure fun events as well like the Drag Racing – do the distance as fast as you can – there will be prizes for all sorts of categories and not always the fastest.

Then we move onto the evening entertainment with bands booked, DJ’s booked and some other fun stuff planned around the Wind Village. The entertainment area is all enclosed so no worries about the weather with a large bar and a chill area if you need a break from the hi-energy stage music. Including:

Music and visualisations by Appo and crew.

Everybody knows Appo, team rider for Ozone, Trampa, and owner of Appozone forum.
Appo’s music career goes back a long, long time, having worked with the likes of (to name a few) Paul Oakenfold, Boy George, Masters at Work, D:Ream, Peter Gabriel, Edwin Starr, KLF, The Orb, the list goes on…. With such an eclectic musical background it will come as no surprise this guy knows about his music! From Pink Floyd to Paul Van Dyke to Beethoven don’t be surprised of just what you will hear from one of his legendary marathon DJ sets.

There are plenty of other things booked and going on and more will be confirmed as it goes on.

If you have any energy left, we have got a great big Energy Drainer Obstacle Course for you !! You need to be in teams of 6, so get yourself organised, and you race each other through this course to find out who is the winning team.

So whats it all about - course

Its a massive inflatable course packed with pillars, wedges, obstacles and finished off with a slide.

Not for the Faint hearted and full on - adults only I'm afraid .

We have aimed this at being very different to any other Kite Fest that is around but should be the best thing since the invention of the wonder bra.
